In fantasy football, nobody wants to be stuck in last place. Not only is it embarrassing, but most leagues have brutal punishments for the person who finishes dead last. We’ve all heard of the Waffle House challenge and the guy who had to retake the ACT, but a Philadelphia league may have just come up with the most epic one yet. Introducing… the Pete Weber Challenge (patent pending).
Here’s how it works: the last-place finisher has to bowl a perfect game. Sounds simple, right? Well, not so fast. The twist is, for every beer or hot dog you eat at the bowling alley, they take 10 pins off your required score. So if you down five beers and five hot dogs, you only need to bowl a 200. But for someone like me who’s terrible at bowling, even 200 seems impossible, especially with the beer slowing you down.
The guy taking on the challenge was already bad at bowling, but after several beers and hot dogs, things got… interesting. His first game was rough, barely hitting 91. He had downed six beers and three hot dogs by that point, which meant his target score was 210. Game two was a slight improvement with a score of 104, but things plateaued. The goal dropped to 150 after four more beers, but his score actually dropped to 103.
Eventually, after too much beer, he was kicked off the lane. But this guy wasn’t about to quit. He took a break, got back to it, and finally completed the challenge on game nine after 19 beers, three hot dogs (which is honestly kind of disappointing), and a total of 90 pins.
That’s what we call a true Herculean effort, and a serious warning to anyone who thinks they can finish last in this fantasy league. You do not want to be on the receiving end of this punishment
