Former Cardinals WR Looks to Rebound After Injury Setback
Rondale Moore’s NFL journey has taken another twist. After missing the entire 2024 season due to injury, the former Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons receiver is now a free agent—and teams are taking notice.
Despite his recent setback, Moore has generated considerable interest on the market, with the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans all exploring the possibility of adding him to their rosters.
A Hot Market for a Comeback Candidate
Moore’s free agency tour began with the Vikings, followed by a meeting with the Bears. The Jets then hosted the 24-year-old speedster, and the Titans scheduled their own visit soon after.
Considering Moore never played a snap for the Falcons after being traded for quarterback Desmond Ridder last offseason, his market demand might seem surprising. However, his skill set as a dynamic slot receiver and gadget player still holds value, especially for teams in need of a versatile offensive weapon.
Moore’s Skill Set Still Intrigues Teams
At 5-foot-7, Moore isn’t the prototypical outside receiver, but his agility and explosiveness make him a dangerous option in the short passing game. During his rookie year in Arizona, he posted 54 receptions for 435 yards and a touchdown. In 2022, he followed up with a 41/414/1 stat line before injuries limited his availability.
The Cardinals made use of his versatility, even deploying him as a rusher in 2023, when he logged 178 rushing yards on 28 carries to go along with 40 receptions for 352 yards. His ability to contribute in multiple ways has kept him on the radar of teams searching for offensive flexibility.
How Moore Fits with Interested Teams
Each team pursuing Moore has a different reason for considering him:
- Bears: Chicago has already signed Olamide Zaccheaus, but they remain active in the receiver market. They previously worked out Mecole Hardman, who has since signed with the Packers, signaling their interest in adding speed.
- Vikings: With Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison leading the receiving corps, Minnesota may view Moore as a rotational weapon who can complement their primary targets.
- Jets: New York needs additional depth behind Garrett Wilson, and while Moore wouldn’t solve all their issues, he could provide another reliable option in their passing attack.
- Titans: Tennessee hasn’t re-signed Tyler Boyd but did bring in Van Jefferson to support Calvin Ridley. Moore could offer another dimension to their receiving group.
A Potential Bargain Signing
Unlike veteran stars like Stefon Diggs, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and Tyler Lockett—who remain major players in the receiver market—Moore represents a lower-risk, high-upside signing for teams looking to add a quick, shifty playmaker without breaking the bank.
With interest ramping up, Moore’s decision could come soon. If healthy, he has the potential to become a valuable contributor to whichever team lands him.
