Russell Wilson Admits Choosing Between Steelers, Giants Was a ‘Close Call’

Russell Wilson Calls 2024 Choice Between Steelers, Giants a ‘Close Decision’

Russell Wilson had options last season, and according to him, it wasn’t an easy call. The veteran quarterback revealed that choosing between staying with the Pittsburgh Steelers and joining the New York Giants was a “close decision.” Ultimately, Wilson opted for New York, signing a one-year deal worth up to $21 million.

Wilson admitted he had interest in returning to Pittsburgh but saw the Giants as an opportunity to “lead and build a winning culture.” The Giants, who still may draft a quarterback, expect Wilson to compete for the starting role. Now, as he settles into New York, it remains to be seen if he made the right choice.
