Russell Wilson is heading to the Big Apple! After taking his time to decide, the veteran quarterback has signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth up to $21 million. That means he’ll be playing at MetLife Stadium—the same place he won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks—hoping to breathe new life into a struggling Giants team.
Wilson’s wife, singer Ciara, seems excited about the move. She kept it short and sweet on Instagram, posting, “What a day. Grateful for new beginnings.”
The couple has been married since 2016 and shares three kids. Ciara, a Grammy-winning artist, has built her own impressive career, racking up multiple MTV and BET awards.
As for Wilson, while he’s not quite the superstar he once was in Seattle, he proved last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers that he’s still got something left in the tank. He led them to 10 wins and a playoff berth, throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 games. Now, the question is: can he do the same for the Giants?
