Russell Wilson took his time deciding on his next NFL home, but earlier this week, he made it official he’s signing a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth up to $21 million. That means he’ll be playing at MetLife Stadium, the same place where he won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks. Now, he’s hoping to help turn the struggling Giants around in 2025.
His wife, singer Ciara, seems thrilled about the move. She reacted on Instagram with a simple but excited message: “What a day. Grateful for new beginnings.”
Ciara and Wilson have been married since 2016 and share three children. She’s a Grammy-winning artist with multiple MTV and BET Awards to her name.
As for Wilson, he may not be the dominant QB he once was in Seattle, but he’s still got game. Last season, he helped the Steelers win 10 games and secure a playoff spot. In 11 games, he threw for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns, completing 63.7% of his passes.
Now, all eyes are on him to see if he can bring some much-needed stability to the Giants’ offense.
