Russell Wilson Leans Toward Big Blue Over Pittsburgh

The New York Giants are still trying to figure out their quarterback situation after cutting ties with Daniel Jones. While they’ve been scouting draft prospects like Shedeur Sanders and even entertaining the idea of signing veteran quarterbacks, another big name is now in the mix: Russell Wilson.

Wilson, who had a rollercoaster season with the Steelers, is reportedly considering the Giants as a “more viable” landing spot than sticking with Pittsburgh. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler shared that Wilson has been lower on the Steelers’ priority list, making New York a more attractive option.

A Temporary Fix for the Giants?

Since Eli Manning retired, the Giants have struggled to find a solid quarterback. Daniel Jones had a promising 2022 season, but things fell apart over the last couple of years. Bringing in Wilson could add some stability and experience, but it wouldn’t be a long-term solution—something that might frustrate fans hoping for a true rebuild.

Many believe the Giants will go after a quarterback in the draft, with Shedeur Sanders being the top name linked to them. The big question is whether they’ll need to trade up to snag him.

With the NFL Draft set for late April, the Giants have a big decision ahead. Do they roll with a veteran like Wilson for a short-term fix, or do they commit to building for the future with a rookie?
