Russell Wilson is on the move again, joining his third team in three years. The veteran QB just signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth up to $21 million, but it turns out that wasn’t his first choice.
According to reports, Wilson actually wanted to stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team he led to the playoffs last season. But instead of waiting around, he took the offer from New York, where he’s expected to start in 2025.
Pittsburgh, meanwhile, may be eyeing an even bigger move—potentially signing Aaron Rodgers. With Justin Fields now a Jet, the Steelers likely had Wilson as a backup plan. But if Wilson felt the Steelers were moving on, it makes sense that he locked in a deal with the Giants.
New York, however, isn’t exactly a dream landing spot. The Giants are coming off a miserable 3-14 season, and their fanbase isn’t exactly hyped about Wilson’s arrival. Maybe Wilson isn’t too thrilled either.
