Russell Wilson & the Giants? GM’s Latest Reveal Turns Heads

The New York Giants are shaking things up after a rough 3-14 season in 2024. One of their biggest moves? Bringing in veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Wilson signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal, while Winston got a two-year, $8 million contract.

At first, it looked like a QB battle was brewing for the starting job. But Giants GM Joe Schoen just cleared things up—Wilson is getting first-team reps this spring, making him the clear frontrunner.

Looking at last season’s stats, it’s easy to see why. Wilson had a solid year with the Steelers, starting 11 games and throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, earning his 10th Pro Bowl selection. He also chipped in 155 rushing yards and two more TDs, leading Pittsburgh to a 6-5 record.

Winston, on the other hand, struggled with the Browns. He started seven games, throwing for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Cleveland went 2-5 in his starts, and his 80.6 passer rating didn’t do him any favors.

Of course, things could still change as the offseason unfolds, but for now, it looks like Wilson is the Giants’ guy. Let’s see if he can turn things around in New York.
