Could the Lions Deal Hendon Hooker to the Saints?
The New Orleans Saints might be shopping for a quarterback—and a young backup on the Lions’ roster could fit the bill. With Derek Carr facing possible shoulder surgery and Kellen Moore taking over as head coach, the Saints may want a low-cost QB to groom while rebuilding other parts of their roster.
That’s where Hendon Hooker comes in. The Lions’ 2023 third-round pick hasn’t seen much action yet, but he’s been developing in Detroit’s system and could be a strong match for New Orleans. Hooker already has connections to the Saints locker room from his Tennessee days—and he’s spoken glowingly about the organization in the past.
If the Lions could get a fourth-round pick in return, GM Brad Holmes might be tempted to make a move and use that draft capital to address other key needs.
