Sexual Assault Lawsuit Filed Against Bills’ Maxwell Hairston

Bills Rookie Maxwell Hairston Accused of Sexual Assault in New Lawsuit

Things are getting messy for Buffalo Bills rookie Maxwell Hairston. A woman named Rebecca Hendryx has filed a lawsuit in Kentucky, accusing him of sexually assaulting her back in 2021 — when they were both students at the University of Kentucky.

According to ESPN, Hendryx says Hairston followed her into her room one day, tried to hang out, and when she wasn’t into it, things allegedly took a dark turn. She claims he forcibly pulled off her pants and assaulted her.

The Bills aren’t saying much about it. When ESPN reached out, the team declined to comment. Instead, they pointed back to an interview from April where GM Brandon Beane praised Hairston as “an impeccable kid” and suggested that the earlier allegation had no legs.

It’s worth noting that Hairston was drafted just this year — 30th overall — and was seen as a rising star. Now, his career is starting off under a heavy cloud.

Police records are a bit murky. A Lexington police spokesperson said they couldn’t find any reports matching the accusation. But in the lawsuit, Hendryx claims she did tell police about it just hours after it happened.

This is a developing situation, and we’ll see how it plays out in court. Either way, it’s a serious accusation with big implications — both for Hairston and the Bills.
