Shedeur’s NFL Future? Deion Sanders Has a Favorite Team in Mind

Deion Sanders isn’t shy about where he wants his son, Shedeur Sanders, to land in the upcoming NFL Draft—he’s got his eyes set on New York.

Speaking at the ProMat Conference in Chicago, Coach Prime made it clear: “Let’s hope it’s New York,” referring to the Giants, who hold the No. 3 overall pick.

For that to happen, Shedeur would need to slip past the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, who are both in the market for a quarterback. Washington State’s Cam Ward is the favorite to go first overall, which means Cleveland would be the last major obstacle in Shedeur’s path to the Big Apple.

The Browns are desperate for a franchise QB after their big gamble on Deshaun Watson fell apart. They’ve gone through 40 different starting quarterbacks since 1999, and with Kenny Pickett as the only healthy QB on the roster, they’re likely to make a move in the draft.

However, Shedeur’s draft stock has taken a hit recently, with some teams reportedly questioning his attitude in pre-draft interviews. Deion isn’t buying it.

“The lies, that’s gonna be that,” he said. “But we’ve always faced adversity. He’s built for this. He’s the most qualified young man for this position, built to be in front of the lights and shine.”

The NFL Draft kicks off April 24-26 in Green Bay.
