With the 16th pick in the 2025 POD Community Mock Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select…

We’ve officially hit the midpoint of our 2025 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft—a fan-powered event where commenters step into the shoes of NFL general managers. And now, on the clock: the Arizona Cardinals, represented by community member VisiblePepper.

The Cardinals are a team that always seems close to turning the corner in the NFC West, yet somehow, they haven’t claimed a division title in over ten years. Could this be the year they finally build a foundation for lasting success?

Before we dive into the pick, make sure to catch up on how the first 15 selections played out by checking out our 2025 POD Community Mock Draft tracker.

Now, with the 16th overall selection, the Arizona Cardinals have chosen…

Kenneth Grant, defensive tackle out of Michigan.

Here’s what VisiblePepper had to say about the pick:

“This was a close call for me. Initially, when I was thinking about who the Cardinals need most, I predicted that I would draft an offensive lineman. It seems for the past few years, that has been a very ignored position group, apart from Paris Johnson Jr. My hope was that one of Will Campbell, Armand Membou, or Kelvin Banks would fall to 16, because of some other skill positions that may have been more exciting.”

But when Kelvin Banks was snagged at pick 14, and with Josh Simmons feeling like too much of a reach at 16, VisiblePepper pivoted. Instead of forcing a pick, he opted for the best player available at a position of need.

Enter Kenneth Grant.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 339 pounds, Grant brings not only massive size to the defensive front, but an athleticism and motor that make him a true disruptor in the trenches. According to VisiblePepper, Grant’s playoff tape from Michigan says it all. While he may have been overshadowed by teammate Mason Graham, his presence was impossible to ignore.

“He has a very sturdy base, is able to dig his heels into the ground, and does fairly well against double teams. He does have some issues with lateral movement, as well as some inconsistent hand placement, but frankly I don’t think those issues are enough to override his raw talent, size, and determination.”

Grant’s flaws—like most prospects—are coachable. And considering Arizona’s current interior line includes veterans like Dalvin Tomlinson and Bilal Nichols, it’s clear the Cardinals need youth and longevity at the position.

“It might not be the sexiest pick of the draft,” VisiblePepper admits, “but at the end of the day, strengthening the interior lines of either side of the ball is always going to be priority for any team that wants to be taken seriously.”

Now it’s your turn—how do you feel about Arizona’s selection of Kenneth Grant? Was it the right move at 16? Cast your vote in the poll and sound off in the comments below.
