So, South Carolina’s football program just pulled off one of the boldest moves in recent memory: they decided to make their October 25, 2025, game against Alabama their homecoming match. Yup, you read that right—Alabama, the team that’s basically synonymous with college football dominance. Naturally, Alabama fans are fuming.
Traditionally, homecoming games are supposed to be easier matchups, a chance to guarantee a win and throw a fun party. But South Carolina clearly isn’t following the script. Instead, they’ve chosen to face one of the toughest teams out there, and Alabama fans are taking it as an insult. After all, they’ve got history—Bama barely beat the Gamecocks 27-25 in a nail-biter last season.
Twitter has been wild since the announcement. Some Alabama fans feel disrespected, while others are laughing it off. On the flip side, Gamecocks fans are hyped. One fan even called it a “power move,” saying, “When was the last time anyone had the guts to schedule Bama for homecoming?”
South Carolina’s 2025 home schedule already features big games against Oklahoma, Clemson, and Kentucky, but this one against Alabama is clearly the headliner. And hey, the Gamecocks have pulled off homecoming surprises before—just last year, they blew out Texas A&M, a top-10 team, 44-20.
So maybe South Carolina is onto something. If they manage to pull off an upset, it’ll be legendary—think Stephen Garcia beating No. 1 Alabama in 2010 legendary. And if they lose? Well, at least they made headlines for having the audacity to even try.
Mark your calendars for October. It’s going to be loud, chaotic, and potentially field-storming worthy. Roll tears, Bama fans—we’re here for the drama.
