Steelers Reportedly Comfortable with Mason Rudolph as 2025 Starter
The Pittsburgh Steelers might have their starting quarterback for 2025, and it’s not who many expected. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Steelers are “comfortable” moving forward with Mason Rudolph under center next season.
With Justin Fields signing with the New York Jets and Russell Wilson still exploring free agency, Pittsburgh’s decision to re-sign Rudolph on a two-year, $8 million deal seemed like a move for a backup. But now, it appears he could be their QB1—at least for now.
The Steelers could still add a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, potentially targeting Shedeur Sanders or another prospect. But unless they make another move, Mason Rudolph could be the guy in Pittsburgh this season.
