Who’s Coming to New York? NFL.com’s Mock Draft Has the Answers

The New York Giants are still trying to figure things out—who’s playing quarterback, what they’ll do with their No. 3 draft pick, and how they plan to bounce back from last season. But one name keeps popping up in the rumor mill: Stefon Diggs.

A few reports, including one from Pro Football Focus, are floating the idea that the star wide receiver could land in New York. But is there any truth to it? So far, it seems like more speculation than actual leaks from the Giants’ camp.

Here’s what we do know: Diggs, now 31, is coming off ACL surgery after a tough season-ending knee injury. But when he’s healthy, he’s one of the best in the game. He’s had six straight 1,000-yard seasons, including an NFL-best 1,535 yards in 2020. He was Josh Allen’s go-to guy in Buffalo, racking up touchdowns and big plays year after year.

If the Giants did pick him up, he’d be teaming up with rookie Malik Nabers, a rising star, and quarterback Jameis Winston, who just signed with New York. And let’s not forget their No. 3 draft pick—who knows, they might even add another offensive weapon like Travis Henry.

Right now, though, Diggs has only taken one free-agency visit, and that was to New England. So this might be a move that happens later, after the dust settles. But for a team desperate to get out of the NFC East basement, adding a proven receiver like Diggs could be a game-changer.
