Strahan Weighs In on Travis Hunter: WR First, Corner Second for Giants

The New York Giants have a tough call to make at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft—and Michael Strahan just added fuel to the fire. On the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, the Giants legend shared his take on Colorado’s Travis Hunter, suggesting the phenom should primarily be used as a wide receiver, not a full-time corner.

Strahan’s reasoning? Impact. “He’s a shutdown type corner, but I just think if you’re going to use his energy, I would use it as a wideout,” he said. Pairing Hunter with Malik Nabers, already one of the NFL’s top young receivers, could create a nightmare for defenses. Still, New York’s corner depth is thin, and Hunter could help there too—if only part-time.

With Shedeur Sanders and Abdul Carter also in play, the Giants are walking a tightrope between team need and superstar upside. Hunter’s versatility could solve multiple problems—if they’re willing to let him play both ways.
