Free agency kicked off with a bang, and the Giants wasted no time upgrading their defense. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), New York’s secondary is now one of the most improved units in the NFL.
One of the biggest additions? Cornerback Paulson Adebo. The Giants scooped him up just hours into free agency, and for good reason. Over the last four seasons, Adebo has built a reputation as a ballhawk, racking up 10 interceptions and 43 pass breakups. The guy knows how to make plays. Even last season, before a broken leg cut things short, he managed three takeaways in just seven games.
But the Giants weren’t done. They also landed one of the top safeties on the market, Jevón Holland. At just 25 years old, Holland has already played 60 games and put up some impressive numbers: 301 tackles, 5 sacks, 10 QB hits, and 5 forced fumbles. PFF even ranked him as one of the top five best free-agent fits for his new team.
With these two signings, the Giants’ secondary is young, talented, and full of potential. None of the starters will be over 26 by the time the season kicks off, meaning they have plenty of time to grow together. Looks like New York’s defense just got a serious boost!
