The Detroit Lions may soon be facing a tough decision in their wide receiver room. Following a strong showing at OTAs, one pass-catcher’s stock is soaring—and it might come at the expense of a veteran’s roster spot.
Jameson Williams has taken a major step forward this offseason, flashing the speed and playmaking potential that made him a first-round pick. With Amon-Ra St. Brown still the heartbeat of the offense and rookie talent also turning heads, the pressure is mounting on the rest of the depth chart to prove their worth.
That’s where Josh Reynolds (or another WR, depending on the original source) comes in. Once considered a reliable option in Detroit’s passing game, he’s now looking increasingly expendable. Younger players like Antoine Green and undrafted standout Isaiah Williams have reportedly impressed coaches and could offer similar production at a lower cost—and with more long-term upside.
If Detroit carries five or six wideouts into the season, someone will be the odd man out. And right now, momentum isn’t on the veteran’s side. Training camp could be the last chance to flip the script.
