The Detroit Lions might be heading into the 2025 season without veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson, who is reportedly considering retirement. According to The Detroit Free Press, the 31-year-old is weighing his future in the league and factoring in his family as he makes his decision.
Robinson joined the Lions in 2024, initially signing with the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster. While he didn’t see much playing time, he brought a veteran presence to the locker room. Over his 11-year NFL career, Robinson played for the Jaguars, Bears, Rams, Steelers, and Giants, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2015. A Detroit native, he graduated from St. Mary’s Preparatory in Orchard Lake Village.
As he approaches free agency when the new league year begins on March 12, Robinson is taking time to evaluate his options. Whether he returns to the field or steps away from the game, his next move will be made with his family’s best interests in mind.
