Devin Williams had quite the debut for the New York Yankees, but it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. Coming in as the closer, he got the usual dramatic intro with lights and music, like many big-name closers do, and was ready to finish off the game. But instead of a quick, easy save, Williams had to work hard to get through it. He ended up needing 36 pitches, which is the most he’s thrown in any of his 69 career saves.

Juan Soto’s debut for the New York Mets didn’t exactly go as fans hoped. The Mets lost 3–2 to the Houston Astros, and the game ended with Soto striking out to Josh Hader, a former teammate from his Padres days. Soto was at the plate, with runners on the corners and two outs in the top of the ninth, down to a full count. He got ahead 3–0 but couldn’t finish it off, eventually swinging and missing at Hader’s slider.

Alabama football might be keeping things low-key on the recruiting front lately, but things are definitely about to heat up. Kalen DeBoer and the coaching staff are still holding steady with three commits for the 2026 class, but they’ve got some big visits lined up with top-tier prospects.
