The New England Patriots are looking for offensive help, and they’ve got their eye on running back Dylan Sampson from Tennessee. At the Volunteers’ Pro Day, Sampson impressed with a 4.42 to 4.47 40-yard dash, though some scouts clocked him even faster. Along with the Patriots, the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints also met with him, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have a top-30 visit scheduled.
Sampson, who’s only 20, stands 5’11” and weighs 201 pounds. He had a strong 2024 season, rushing for 1,488 yards and 22 touchdowns, though he did have four fumbles. Still, his overall performance makes him a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. Over his college career, he has 423 rushes for 2,481 yards and 35 touchdowns. Given his potential, he’s likely to go in the second or third round, which could line him up for the Patriots, who have three picks in that range. The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on April 24.
