Detroit Lions fans love a young player with confidence—and cornerback Terrion Arnold is bringing plenty of it into his sophomore season. The former first-round pick didn’t hesitate when asked which quarterbacks he most wants to pick off in 2025.
Spoiler: he’s aiming high.
Calling His Shot on Jayden Daniels
In a recent sit-down with Kay Adams on the Up and Adams Show, Arnold went straight to the Washington Commanders’ quarterback when asked the question.
“He probably gonna call me and be like, ‘you’re not picking me off,’ like he that type,” Arnold laughed while talking about Jayden Daniels. “But, you know, I always tell him and remind him, like he’ll see that and hit you up. I always remind him in college, like, when we play LSU, like, you know, that was a game-changer moment when I picked him off.”
It’s clear there’s a friendly rivalry here, one that dates back to college battles. Daniels may have gotten the better of the Lions in last season’s playoffs, but Arnold hasn’t forgotten his own highlight moment against him.
Respecting the Legend: Aaron Rodgers
The second name on Arnold’s list? None other than Aaron Rodgers.
“He’s a really respected guy. And just growing up, that was kind of like somebody that I just looked at, like, ‘Dang man. Like, that’s A-Rod,’” Arnold explained. “It’s kind of like one of those things where, like, when you make it to the NFL, now you’re going against that person. So you can’t look at them in that aspect. But it’s still a reminder.”
You can almost feel the admiration in his words. Arnold grew up watching Rodgers dominate the NFL—now he’s circling the four-time MVP as a career milestone target.
What’s Next for Arnold and the Lions
Arnold is coming off a strong rookie season where he played in 16 games, racked up 60 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and even scooped up a fumble recovery. He was a big piece of Detroit’s franchise-best 15–2 record, even if things ended in heartbreak against Daniels and the Commanders in the playoffs.
Now, heading into Year 2, the expectations are even higher. If Arnold can snag interceptions against the very quarterbacks he’s set his sights on, it won’t just be a confidence boost—it’ll be a sign that the Lions’ defense has leveled up right alongside him.
Eyes on the Opener
For now, Arnold and the Lions are locked in on wrapping up preseason against the Texans before kicking off the regular season in Green Bay. And you can bet Terrion Arnold is already dreaming about the first time he lines up across from Daniels or Rodgers this fall.
Because for a corner with ambition, there’s nothing sweeter than calling your shot—and then making it happen.
