Terrion Arnold Switches to No. 6 to Honor Late Friend Khyree Jackson

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is changing jersey numbers this season—but not just for style. He’s switching from No. 0 to No. 6 to honor his late friend and former Alabama teammate, Khyree Jackson.

Jackson tragically passed away last July in a car accident that also claimed the lives of two of his high school teammates. A driver involved in the crash is now facing multiple charges, including DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Arnold, who once wore No. 6 back in high school, said the number means a lot more now. On the New Wave Podcast, he shared how much of an impact Khyree had on him—not just as a friend, but as a competitor. “The guy was the ultimate competitor,” Arnold said. “When I look down and see that 6, it’s like my brother is living through me.”

He added that being able to represent Khyree’s legacy—especially in front of his family—is powerful. “It’s bigger than football,” he said. “His little brother can look up and say, ‘he’s wearing number 6 because of my big brother.’ That’s amazing.”

Arnold isn’t the only Lion making a change. Jahmyr Gibbs is taking over the No. 0 jersey, while Jameson Williams is going back to his college number, No. 1.

Cam Ward Headlines NFL Draft Attendees—But No Shedeur Sanders

The NFL just dropped the list of players attending the 2025 Draft in Green Bay, and Cam Ward is leading the charge. The Miami QB is widely expected to go No. 1 overall, and he’s one of three quarterbacks confirmed to be there—alongside Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss) and Jalen Milroe (Alabama).

Surprisingly, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, projected to be the second QB off the board, isn’t attending. But his teammate Travis Hunter, the electric two-way star, will be in the building.

Other top names expected in attendance include Penn State’s Abdul Carter, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, LSU’s Will Campbell, and Michigan’s Mason Graham. Alabama is sending three prospects: Milroe, guard Tyler Booker, and linebacker Jihaad Campbell.

The draft kicks off Thursday, April 24, with the first round, followed by Rounds 2–3 on Friday and the rest on Saturday. It’s going to be a wild weekend in Green Bay.
