The New York Giants might be in the market for a wide receiver, but with other pressing needs, they’ll have to be smart about value. Could Texas speedster Isaiah Bond be on their radar?
Bond is one of the fastest prospects in this year’s draft, clocking a blazing 4.39-second 40-yard dash. While that’s still elite, some were expecting an even faster time. His top-end speed, however, is undeniable—he’s hit 24.17 mph in-game, making him a true deep threat.
Strengths:
Elite Speed: Few defenders can keep up when he gets going.
Run-After-Catch Ability: Dangerous with the ball in space.
Ball Skills: Tracks and adjusts to the ball well.
Route Running IQ: Helps create openings even when he’s not targeted.
Weaknesses:
Size & Strength: At 5’10”, 180 pounds, he can struggle against press coverage.
Blocking Ability: Willing, but not very effective.
Initial Burst: More of a build-up speed guy than an instant accelerator.
Fit with the Giants?
While Bond’s skill set is intriguing, he might not be the best value for the Giants, given their current roster. He’s projected as a Day 2 pick and could thrive in a scheme that gets him the ball in space. If used beyond just a gadget player, he could be a game-changer.
