The 2025 Masters got underway in Augusta, Georgia, on Thursday, and Alabama’s former golfers made their mark. Three ex-Crimson Tide players—Davis Riley, Justin Thomas, and Nick Dunlap—took to the course. Both Riley and Thomas finished the first round with a 1-over-par 73, landing them in a tie for 38th. This is Riley’s first Masters appearance, while Thomas, in his 10th tournament, has made the cut in seven of his previous nine outings.

Unfortunately for Dunlap, the day didn’t go as planned. In his second Masters, he shot a rough 90, leaving him 11 strokes behind the field in 95th place.

Justin Rose leads the pack with a stellar 7-under-par after Day 1. The golfers are back on the course for Round 2 on Friday.

Here’s how the former Alabama golfers fared on Day 1:

Davis Riley: 73 (+1), T38

Justin Thomas: 73 (+1), T38

Nick Dunlap: 90 (+18), 95th
