The Detroit Lions are getting ready for the 2025 NFL Draft, and things are looking interesting. With free agency taking care of some immediate needs, GM Brad Holmes now has a chance to bring in young, affordable talent—especially important as the team deals with big contract extensions and tries to stay competitive in their Super Bowl window.

NFL draft analyst Chad Reuter recently broke down ideal picks for every team, and here’s what he sees as a perfect one-two punch for the Lions:

Round 1, Pick 28 – Jonah Savaiinaea, Offensive Lineman (Arizona)
Savaiinaea is a strong, mobile lineman who’s started for three years. He’s a natural fit for Detroit, especially since they need someone to replace Kevin Zeitler. His ability to get to the second level and hold his ground makes him a great addition to one of the best O-lines in the league.

Round 2, Pick 60 – Oluwafemi Oladejo, Linebacker (UCLA)
Oladejo is catching attention from a bunch of teams, and it’s easy to see why. He’s big, strong, and plays with a lot of energy. He’s coming off a leg injury from last season, but if he bounces back, he could bring a lot of fire to Detroit’s defense. The Lions haven’t officially brought him in for a visit yet, but there’s definite interest.

Bottom line: If the Lions land both these guys, they’ll be filling key needs with high-upside players who could make an impact right away.
