The Detroit Lions are planning to lock in wide receiver Jameson Williams for another year by picking up his fifth-year option. General Manager Brad Holmes said it’s pretty much a done deal, adding that Williams had a strong season and still has plenty of potential left to tap into.

Despite some off-field issues and suspensions, Williams had a breakout year, racking up over 1,000 receiving yards and proving himself as one of the league’s top big-play threats with an impressive 17.3 yards per catch. With this move, the Lions secure him through the next two seasons as they continue building for the future.

Holmes also touched on contract extensions for other key players, including Aidan Hutchinson, saying they’re in the early stages of planning. While there’s no exact timeline yet, the Lions are focused on keeping their core talent together as they prepare for another big season.
