Donald Trump has repeated one of his favorite misspellings, writing “stollen” instead of “stolen” in a recent post on Truth Social.
The mistake was part of a claim Trump made about the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and media outlets. In his post, Trump wrote: “LOOKS LIKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN STOLLEN AT USAID, AND OTHER AGENCIES, MUCH OF IT GOING TO THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA AS A ‘PAYOFF’ FOR CREATING GOOD STORIES ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS.”
As many have pointed out, “stollen” is actually a type of German Christmas bread, similar to fruitcake. This is not the first time Trump has made this mistake, with some counting it as at least the 24th time since March 5, 2019.
Viewers who spotted the mistake expressed frustration and poked fun at Trump’s error. One person tweeted: “OMG, he’s still writing ‘stollen’?” Another joked: “Still stollen after all these years.”
Others used the opportunity to criticize Trump’s spelling and grammar, with one person saying: “Bro still doesn’t know how to spell ‘stolen.'”
