Marshall, a former LSU star, was pretty pumped about linking up with Hurts. “It’s a blessing,” he said. “When you’re a receiver, you want someone who’s gonna put the ball where it needs to be. Jalen does that—he makes smart plays for the whole team.”
Marshall was drafted in the second round by the Panthers in 2021. Over three seasons, he racked up 64 catches for 767 yards and a single touchdown. He bounced around a bit last season, starting on the 49ers’ practice squad before ending up with the Raiders, where he played in seven games and made three catches for 41 yards.
Philly’s already stacked at receiver with DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Jahan Dotson all returning from last season’s championship squad. But Marshall gives the Eagles even more depth and another big-bodied target for Hurts to work with.
Let’s see how this plays out when the season kicks off.
