It doesn’t look like the Giants are planning to grab another edge rusher early in the 2025 Draft. But there’s some buzz that they’re looking at Penn State’s Abdul Carter, especially with Cleveland possibly eyeing Travis Hunter at No. 2. If the Giants do take Carter at No. 3, that could mean Thibodeaux is on the move.
Thibodeaux has been solid (21 sacks in 3 years), but trading him could get the Giants some good Day 2 draft picks. Here are five teams that might be interested:
5. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are still trying to rebuild their defense. Pairing Thibodeaux with Jadeveon Clowney could give them a solid edge duo who can rush the passer and stop the run.
4. Seattle Seahawks
Seattle already picked up Leonard Williams and Julian Love—both former Giants. Adding Thibodeaux would basically complete a mini Giants reunion. They still need more pass rush help, and Kayvon could fit right in.
3. Baltimore Ravens
Odafe Oweh is finally showing up, and Kyle Van Noy is still productive, but the Ravens need another high-impact player up front. If anyone can bring out the best in Thibodeaux, it’s John Harbaugh.
2. Detroit Lions
If Detroit focuses on other positions in Round 1, like guard or defensive tackle, trading for Thibodeaux could be a smart move. Teaming him up with Aidan Hutchinson would give them a scary pass-rushing duo for years.
1. San Francisco 49ers
Thibodeaux is a California guy, so going to the 49ers would be like a homecoming. He’d get to start opposite Nick Bosa, and the 49ers could use their draft picks on other areas like the O-line and secondary.
