Stay Vigilant: Ticketmaster Issues Urgent Alert for Fans
As Beyoncé prepares to embark on her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour, Ticketmaster has issued a critical warning to fans eager to secure their seats. With demand at an all-time high, scammers are finding new ways to exploit unsuspecting buyers, prompting the ticketing giant to sound the alarm.
Beyoncé’s Grand Return to the Stage
After an 18-month hiatus, Queen B is set to grace the stage once again, beginning her tour at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in April. Her Cowboy Carter tour, named after her latest 2024 album, has already created an intense frenzy among fans worldwide.
Pre-sale tickets became available on February 11 at noon local time, allowing early buyers to snag their spots for Beyoncé’s performances in cities like Paris, London, and New York. The general sale will follow on February 14, also at noon local time for each venue.
The Rise of Speculative Ticketing Scams
Ticketmaster’s urgent warning revolves around a deceptive practice known as speculative listing. This scam involves unofficial sellers listing tickets for sale before they even have them in hand—either digitally or physically.
These sellers gamble on acquiring tickets during pre-sale or general sales, only to resell them at significantly marked-up prices. However, in many cases, they fail to secure the tickets at all, leaving buyers out of pocket and without entry to the event.
Ticketmaster has made it clear: “People claiming to sell these tickets are committing fraud, and this practice is illegal in many states.”
How to Spot Fake Listings
To help fans avoid falling victim to speculative ticketing, Ticketmaster advises that any resale ticket available before official sales begin is a red flag
