Top SAS Veteran Slams US After War Plan Leak: ‘We Can’t Trust Them

A former SAS hero has slammed the U.S. for being careless with top-secret information after a shocking security blunder in Donald Trump’s administration. Chris Ryan, a decorated ex-SAS soldier, warned that Britain can no longer trust America with intelligence after war plans were leaked on a messaging app.

Ryan, who famously escaped capture in Iraq during the Gulf War, didn’t hold back, calling the leak “moronic” and saying it put British and American spies in danger. He believes these mistakes will only get worse if Trump wins a second term.

Colonel Philip Ingram, a former British military intelligence officer, also weighed in, saying the White House is being run by “amateurs” who have severely damaged America’s reputation.

The whole mess started when Trump officials accidentally added a journalist to a Signal group chat where they were discussing U.S. airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The chat included top figures like Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz. The leaked messages revealed sensitive details about upcoming strikes, including weapons and timing  information that should have never been shared so carelessly.

After the leak was exposed, Trump lashed out at the journalist who reported it, calling him a “total sleazebag.” Meanwhile, Waltz took the blame, admitting, “It’s embarrassing.”

Ryan said that during his time in the SAS, U.S. operational security was rock solid. But now, he claims, “muppets running around Washington” are leaking classified military secrets in group chats. He warned that these security failures could cost lives.

British officials are now questioning how much intelligence they should continue sharing with the U.S. A former British Army chief even suggested that the leak put RAF pilots in danger, as British aircraft were involved in refueling American jets during the Yemen strikes.

Despite the controversy, Downing Street insists the UK’s relationship with the U.S. remains strong. But behind the scenes, intelligence officials are reportedly being more cautious about what they share with their American counterparts.

Meanwhile, the leak has triggered alarm among U.S. allies, with Canada’s Prime Minister saying nations might need to start looking out for themselves rather than relying on American intelligence.

To make matters worse, a German newspaper recently found that personal details  like emails and phone numbers  of top U.S. security officials were floating around online, raising even more concerns about America’s ability to keep secrets safe.

With more blunders like this, it’s no surprise that some in the intelligence world are worried about the future of U.S. security.
