The Dallas Cowboys’ secondary is about to get some much-needed help, as Trevon Diggs is expected to return to action. Dallas is riding a three-game winning streak after taking down the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, and they now shift their focus to the Detroit Lions for next Thursday’s matchup. Team owner Jerry Jones has indicated that Diggs should be available, assuming there are no last-minute setbacks.

Diggs has suited up for six games this season, with his most recent appearance coming in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. Just two days before the Cowboys played the Washington Commanders in Week 7, the team announced that Diggs was ruled out after suffering a concussion at home. The following week, he was placed on injured reserve to recover.

His return would be a welcome boost for the Cowboys’ defensive backfield. Second-year corner Caelen Carson has been impressive despite missing the Thanksgiving game with a hamstring problem. Meanwhile, rookie Shavon Revel continues to flash the talent that once had him projected as a first-round pick before a torn ACL dropped him to the third round.

Mixing Diggs back into the lineup—alongside Carson, Revel, and standout corner DaRon Bland—gives Dallas a strong rotation as they push toward the playoffs. Of course, Diggs will need to quickly regain form for the Cowboys to fully capitalize on their depth. Still, simply having him available again is a meaningful step forward for a team trying to solidify its postseason chances.
