Hendrickson, the NFL’s sack leader, is stuck in a contract stand-off with the Bengals, and things aren’t looking good. Bengals exec Katie Blackburn made some questionable comments at league meetings, suggesting that Hendrickson should be happy with certain contract terms, even if he doesn’t think they’re ideal. She made it sound like it was up to him to agree and move things forward.
Naturally, Hendrickson wasn’t pleased. When he appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show,” he was asked directly about Blackburn’s remarks. At first, he thought it might be an April Fool’s joke, but his agent confirmed it wasn’t. He expressed his disappointment, mentioning that communication with the team has been poor over the past couple of months. Hendrickson also clarified that he’s not asking to be the highest-paid player; he just wants a long-term deal with guaranteed money, something he’s been hoping for since three years ago.
