Troy Aikman Breaks Silence with Emotional Message to Flood-Hit Texas

Troy Aikman Speaks Out After Devastating Texas Floods Claim Lives

As Central Texas deals with the aftermath of one of its worst flooding disasters in years, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman took to social media to offer his support and condolences.

Triggered by a sudden surge in the Guadalupe River on July 4th, the flooding has been catastrophic  leaving at least 43 people dead, including 15 children. Among the most heartbreaking stories is the disappearance of 27 kids from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp in Hunt, Texas, where rising waters wiped out cabins and tents in minutes.

Aikman, who rarely posts publicly, shared a heartfelt message on July 5th:

“My heart is with the children still missing in the Texas Hill Country  and with those who have been found and heartbreakingly lost. It’s impossible to put that kind of pain into words. I’m praying for the families still waiting, and for strength for those now grieving.”

Emergency crews have rescued more than 850 people so far, and the search continues for those still unaccounted for. Kerrville city manager Dalton Rice said rescuers are working non-stop:

“We’ve been rescuing people out of these camps by the hundreds all day… we’ll just continue until we find everyone else.”

The sports world has also stepped up to help. The Houston Texans donated \$500,000 to flood relief efforts and shared a message of support, especially for the families of the missing children. Astros star Alex Bregman and FC Dallas coach Eric Quill also used their platforms to raise awareness, with Quill saying it’s tough to think about soccer right now with so many lives in danger.

The Texas Hill Country community is still in shock, and support from figures like Aikman is helping to bring some comfort during an incredibly painful time.
