Trump Blasts Putin and Zelenskyy Over Failure to Secure Ceasefire Deal

Donald Trump has been vocal about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, expressing frustration over the stalled ceasefire talks between the two sides. On March 30, 2025, Trump took aim at both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump initially blasted Putin for doubting Zelenskyy’s credibility as a negotiating partner, calling the Russian leader’s remarks “angry” and “pissed off.” However, later in the day, Trump shifted his focus to Zelenskyy, warning the Ukrainian president that if he backed out of a deal over rare earth minerals, it could lead to “big problems.”

The U.S. president has been pushing for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia while also seeking a deal where U.S. companies would have exclusive access to Ukraine’s valuable mineral resources. Trump believes this deal is crucial for his larger strategy and is clearly frustrated with any hesitation on Zelenskyy’s part.

Trump has made it clear that while he is looking for a resolution to the war, the future of the U.S.-Ukraine relationship depends on Zelenskyy sticking to agreements. Meanwhile, Russia continues to make progress on the battlefield despite the ongoing talks. The situation remains tense as the international community waits for any breakthroughs.
