“Trump May Fire Hegseth After Pentagon Drama Erupts, Former Spokesman Warns”

Pentagon’s Ex-Spokesman Says Trump Might Fire Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth

It’s been a rough stretch for Pete Hegseth, the current Secretary of Defense under Donald Trump. And now, one of his former top spokespeople, John Ullyot, thinks Hegseth’s days might be numbered.

In a blunt opinion piece for *Politico*, Ullyot said the Pentagon has been caught up in non-stop drama lately, especially after a scandal called “Signalgate” — when a journalist accidentally got added to a Signal chat where military strikes were being discussed.

Hegseth’s handling of that situation? According to Ullyot, a total mess.

Ullyot, who once publicly supported Hegseth and worked with him, admitted the past month has been disastrous. From Signalgate to reports of Hegseth involving his wife in sensitive meetings and controversial staffing changes, Ullyot called it a “Month from Hell.”

He said that instead of focusing on national defense, the Pentagon has been dealing with “endless drama,” including:
– Details of U.S. strikes being shared in private group chats
– Hegseth allegedly bringing his wife and brother into sensitive conversations
– Multiple aides getting fired or resigning amid leak investigations
– Rumors of a secret briefing planned for Elon Musk

Ullyot predicted that with Trump’s history of firing Cabinet members like Jim Mattis, Rex Tillerson, and Mark Esper, Hegseth might be next.

He closed his piece by saying, “The president deserves better than the current chaos at the Pentagon.”

So far, neither Trump, the White House, nor the Pentagon has commented.
