Trump doesn’t think Russia will ever go to war with NATO.
While speaking to journalists (as aired on Fox News), he was asked if he agreed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s warning that Russia might eventually turn its aggression toward NATO. Trump’s response? A firm “No, I don’t agree. Not even a little bit.”
Zelenskyy had recently claimed that Russia could start targeting NATO countries as early as next year. Meanwhile, Denmark’s Defence Intelligence Service warned that if the war in Ukraine ends or stalls, and NATO doesn’t boost its military power, Russia could be ready for a large-scale European war within five years.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also weighed in, saying that if Putin attacked NATO now, Russia would face certain defeat. But in a few years? That could be a different story.
