Donald Trump has stirred up JFK conspiracy theories again, sharing his thoughts on who really fired the fatal shot.
Last Monday (March 17), Trump released 80,000 pages of declassified CIA files related to Kennedy’s assassination, calling the information “very interesting.” But for most readers, the documents didn’t deliver any shocking revelations.
Experts believe the files were kept classified for decades to protect intelligence-gathering methods rather than to hide a big secret. Still, conspiracy theorists were hoping for one particular document but it wasn’t included in the release, keeping speculation alive.
The official story remains the same: on November 22, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots from the Texas School Book Depository, killing Kennedy as he rode through Dallas in an open car. Two days later, before he could stand trial, Oswald was shot and killed by nightclub owner Jack Ruby fueling decades of debate about what really happened.
Over the weekend, Trump sat down with OutKick’s Clay Travis on Air Force One, where he was asked if he believed Oswald acted alone. “I do, and I’ve always felt that,” Trump said, before adding, “But of course, was he helped?”
Theories about the mafia, CIA involvement, and other shadowy figures have circulated for years, but officials still insist Oswald acted alone. While some hoped the document dump would finally settle the mystery, it’s only made people more curious.
Trump admitted the files were “somewhat unspectacular” but suggested that might not be a bad thing. Either way, the speculation isn’t dying down anytime soon.
