Trump’s White House Gears Up for Big Holy Week Celebration
President Trump is planning a big Holy Week celebration this year, filled with events to honor Easter in a way he says it deserves. The newly created White House Faith Office has put together a schedule with prayer services, dinners, and special messages leading up to Easter Sunday.
Faith director Jennifer Korn shared that the week will include a presidential Easter proclamation, a video message from Trump, a pre-Easter dinner, and even a worship service for White House staff. Christian leaders, pastors, and singers will take part in these gatherings.
Palm Sunday will kick things off with a message from Trump promising to keep defending Christian faith in schools, workplaces, the military, and government. A big Easter dinner is planned for Wednesday, featuring prayers, hymns from the Marine Corps Band, and performances by Christian singer Charles Billingsley.
Holy Thursday will include a worship service at the White House with prayers, scripture readings, communion, and music from Liberty University students.
Trump’s team is presenting this celebration as a sharp contrast to the Biden White House, which last year faced criticism for marking Easter Sunday as Transgender Day of Visibility. Trump’s press secretary called that decision “appalling” at the time and demanded an apology.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said this week shows Trump kept his promise to millions of Christians by creating the White House Faith Office and hosting a major faith-centered Holy Week.
