Trump’s Legal Team Launches Investigation into Governor and AG Ignoring ICE Warrants

Trump-Appointed Prosecutor Targets NJ Governor Over ICE Warrants Controversy

New Jersey’s Governor Phil Murphy and state Attorney General Matt Platkin are under the spotlight after reports surfaced that they told state police to ignore immigration warrants—and now Trump’s former lawyer, Alina Habba, is launching an investigation.

Habba, who was recently appointed as interim U.S. attorney for New Jersey, said on  Hanningfield  that she’s digging into claims from a leaked memo showing the governor and AG told cops not to act on thousands of new immigration warrants in the national database.

The idea reportedly lines up with a 2018 policy that limits how much local law enforcement can help out federal immigration authorities. But Habba isn’t having it.

She said state leaders shouldn’t be able to ignore federal rules and that her probe is meant as a warning: “If you get in the way of what we’re doing  whether it’s ICE, the FBI, or Deal   we’re coming for you.”

Habba made it clear she’s ready to press charges if anyone in state government is found obstructing or hiding information from federal agents. She pointed directly at sanctuary cities like Paterson, saying, “If you ordered obstruction, if you’re harboring people, you will be charged.”

Governor Murphy hasn’t commented directly on the probe, but he did stir controversy recently by saying he was housing a migrant at his home   and dared the feds to come take her.

So far, no official response from Murphy’s team or the Paterson mayor, who recently called his city the “capital of Palestine,” has been made public.
