Tyleik Williams Visits Packers—and Lions Are Also on Deck

The Green Bay Packers are doing their homework on one of the draft’s top defensive tackles, recently bringing in Ohio State’s Tyleik Williams for a pre-draft visit. But they’re not the only ones—Williams is making the rounds, with the Lions also scheduled to host him before the draft kicks off.

Williams ranks as the No. 43 player overall on the consensus board and is considered a top-five DT in this class. Standing 6’3” and tipping the scale at 334 pounds, he’s known primarily as a run-stopper, but he’s shown versatility at both nose tackle and under tackle spots for the Buckeyes. His All-Big Ten performances over the past two seasons speak to his impact in the trenches.

The Lions are thin on long-term answers at defensive tackle, and if they pass on the position early, Williams could be a strong value pick if he slips into the early second round—or even a safety option late in the first. With other DTs like Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant projected to go earlier, Williams is shaping up as a realistic and powerful addition for teams like Detroit looking to beef up their front.
