Tyreek Hill Reflects on Chiefs Trade, Says Move ‘Changed My Life’
Three years after being traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill took to social media to acknowledge the anniversary of the blockbuster deal.
“Changed my life thank you,” Hill posted on X (formerly Twitter), reacting to a post about the trade.
While some Chiefs fans still debate whether the move was the right decision, the reality is that both sides have thrived since parting ways. Hill has been dominant in Miami, posting back-to-back 1,700-yard seasons and earning two All-Pro selections. Meanwhile, Kansas City used the assets from the trade to bolster its defense and has reached three straight Super Bowls, winning one.
Hill’s 2024 Season Wasn’t Smooth Sailing
Despite his personal success, the 2024 season proved challenging for Hill. A broken wrist early in the year limited his production, and he finished with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns—his lowest totals in any season where he played at least 15 games. On top of that, Miami missed the playoffs entirely, leaving Hill on the outside looking in while his former team made another deep postseason run.
Still, Hill is one of the most electrifying wideouts in the game and continues to be a cornerstone of the Dolphins’ offense. His three-year, $90 million contract (renegotiated in 2024) ensures he’s well-compensated, and playing in his home state remains a major plus for the veteran receiver.
Chiefs’ Current WR Situation
Kansas City enters the 2025 season with a solid but evolving wide receiver corps. Rashee Rice will be the team’s WR1 once he fully recovers from his knee injury, while new addition Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy provide deep-threat speed. However, the Chiefs still lack a big-bodied X-receiver, something they could address in the upcoming NFL Draft, where they hold eight picks, including No. 31 in the first round.
For now, Hill’s departure remains one of the most debated moves in recent Chiefs history. But given the continued success of both sides, it’s safe to say this was a rare trade that worked out for everyone involved.
