The undrafted offensive lineman out of North Dakota State is making a quiet, but serious, impression at Lions training camp—and he’s got a not-so-secret weapon in his corner: tight ends coach Tyler Roehl, who just so happens to be his former college offensive coordinator.
During their time at NDSU, Miller anchored Roehl’s run-heavy offense, starting 42 games, winning two national titles, and even bouncing back from a fractured fibula. That bond and trust didn’t fade. If anything, it’s helping Miller navigate the brutal grind of an NFL camp, where UDFAs usually get little more than a cup of coffee.
But Miller’s different. He’s versatile, he’s strong, and he’s holding his own at multiple positions. With Detroit’s O-line depth still a question mark behind Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell, the 6-foot-6, 315-pound tackle has a real shot to hang around—whether on the 53-man roster or as a stash on the practice squad.
