UPDATE: CeeDee Lamb ‘Progressing Nicely’ After Concussion, Vikings Status Still Uncertain

Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is going through a critical concussion evaluation as the team prepares for their Week 15 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings — and recent updates bring both optimism and uncertainty about his availability.

Lamb exited the Cowboys’ Week 14 loss to the Detroit Lions after sustaining a concussion on a hard fall while trying to make a catch in the end zone. He was ruled out of that game after showing concussion symptoms and being evaluated by team medical staff.

Since then, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer and team reporters have offered encouraging news on Lamb’s progress. According to recent reports, Lamb is “progressing nicely” through the NFL’s concussion protocol and has met many of the early milestones needed to eventually return. Cowboy officials say he is trending in the right direction but still needs to clear specific protocol benchmarks before he’s cleared to play.

The timing works in Dallas’ favor: because the injury occurred on a Thursday night, Lamb has a full 10 days before the Cowboys’ next game — a timeline that gives him more time than a typical short week would allow to recover and be re-evaluated.

Despite the positive outlook, there’s no official game-status designation yet. Lamb remains in concussion protocol, meaning he could play against the Vikings if he clears all the necessary medical checks before Sunday. However, concussion recovery is highly individualized — some players clear protocol quickly, while others take longer — so uncertainty remains.

Lamb’s absence would be a significant blow to Dallas’ offense. He was having a big game against Detroit before exiting — hauling in six catches for 121 yards — and his playmaking ability remains a key part of the Cowboys’ offensive identity.

For now, the Cowboys will monitor his progress closely this week, hoping he continues to improve and clears protocol in time to suit up against the Vikings. If he does, it would be a major boost for Dallas as they aim to stay in the thick of the NFC playoff hunt.
