Vikings Land High-Profile Free Agent, Investing $37M in Former Top-5 Pick

The Minnesota Vikings are exploring a potential addition to their secondary, hosting former No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah for a free-agent visit. Okudah, who has struggled with injuries and inconsistency since entering the league with the Detroit Lions in 2020, most recently played for the Houston Texans, primarily on special teams.

Despite his challenges, Okudah showed flashes of promise during his stint with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 and had a strong 2022 season in Detroit. With the Vikings already adding veterans Ambry Thomas and Isaiah Rodgers to a group that includes Byron Murphy and Mekhi Blackmon, Okudah would provide depth and a potential upside play for Minnesota’s secondary.
