“We’re Keeping All the Receipts”: Amik Robertson Sends Bold Message to Doubters

Lions Cornerback Fires Back at Critics, Eyes a Stronger Comeback

After a heartbreaking playoff exit at the hands of the Washington Commanders, Detroit Lions cornerback Amik Robertson isn’t interested in excuses. Even after suffering a broken arm in the game, he refuses to let injuries or the loss define the team’s future. Instead, Robertson has a message for the skeptics: the Lions are taking note of every doubt cast their way—and they’ll be back stronger than ever.

Lions’ Resilience and the Road Ahead

The Lions entered the postseason as the NFC’s top seed, carrying high expectations. But their playoff run was cut short, leaving many to speculate that injuries played a role in their early exit. Robertson, however, dismisses that narrative. He believes the team’s downfall had nothing to do with injuries and everything to do with the challenges of competition.

Rather than dwell on what went wrong, he sees the criticism as fuel. In an interview with TMZ’s Shannon Person, Robertson made it clear that the team is fully aware of the doubters—and they’re using it as motivation.

“At the end of the day, man, all this is going to hit full circle. Man, as mad and as much anger and fire as I got in me because I couldn’t finish out the game and that I was injured, I’m not going to bring up injuries and say injuries were an excuse,” Robertson said.

“We’ll Be Back”

Robertson is adamant that the team’s struggles won’t be pinned on injuries. Instead of looking for excuses, he is focused on the passion that drives him and the team forward.

“It wasn’t the reason that we lost and couldn’t get over that hump, but we’ll be back. We’ll be back healthy, and just know we’re keeping all the receipts.”

For Robertson, the critics’ doubts only add fuel to the fire. He has always used skepticism as motivation, and this time is no different.

“It is okay when you fail and you see people doubting you. That’s how I came up. That was my fuel to my fire, doubt. So we’ll be back. It is all good, but we’re definitely keeping the receipts.”

A Motivated Team Ready for 2025

Robertson’s mindset reflects the determination of the entire Lions squad. The team is already looking ahead to the 2025 season, eager to prove their doubters wrong. With key players set to return healthy and a renewed hunger for redemption, Detroit fans have every reason to be excited.

As the offseason unfolds, one thing is clear—the Lions aren’t just moving on from their playoff disappointment. They’re using it as motivation. And according to Robertson, when they return, they won’t forget the criticism.

Detroit’s journey is far from over. They’re keeping the receipts, and they’ll be back to settle the score.
