When It Comes to the Giants, This QB Just Makes Sense

One Quarterback Still Feels Like the Best Fit for the Giants

The New York Giants are sitting on the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and it could seriously shape the direction of the franchise. But there’s a twist   if the Browns grab Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders before them, that decision might get made for them.

Even if Sanders is off the board, the Giants will still have their eyes on top-tier talents like Travis Hunter (who can play both corner and wide receiver) or Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter. GM Joe Schoen could easily be tempted to go with one of those instead of a quarterback.

That said, there’s one QB who seems like a great match for the Giants    and they wouldn’t even have to use a first-round pick on him: Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.

Milroe’s probably not the flashiest name in the draft and may not even go in the first round. But he brings something unique to the table, and the Giants are set up to let him grow. They’ve already signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, which means Milroe could sit, learn, and not be thrown into the fire right away. A full year to develop could do wonders.

And let’s not forget head coach Brian Daboll. He was hired to mold a quarterback, and Milroe’s physical tools might be the most impressive he’s ever worked with. Daboll’s history with mobile QBs (like Josh Allen and Daniel Jones during his breakout 2022 season) shows he knows how to use that style effectively.

If the Giants take Milroe in the second round, they could still grab a top defensive or offensive talent at No. 3. Sure, there’s more risk with Milroe, and Day 2 quarterbacks don’t always hit, but the expectations are lower. If he doesn’t work out, they could always look to the 2026 draft for a replacement.

But if it clicks? Milroe could end up being a steal    and a perfect long-term fit in New York.
