Detroit Lions Open Applications for 2025 “Touchdown in Your Town” Program
DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) – High school football and cheer programs across Michigan have something big to cheer about: the Detroit Lions have officially opened applications for their 2025 Touchdown in Your Town initiative.
Now in its seventh year, the program is designed to uplift and support student athletes by providing essential resources—everything from equipment and apparel to technology and financial grants. It’s all made possible through a powerful partnership between the Detroit Lions, the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM), Planet Fitness, and the Detroit Lions Foundation.
In addition to the Lions’ contributions, UDIM will offer selected schools a milk grant to help promote nutrition, while Planet Fitness plans to give one lucky school’s weight room a major upgrade.
“After extending our reach last year by adding cheer programs into the mix, we look forward to keeping the momentum going and seeing the ways we can support Michigan’s high school football players and cheerleaders in year seven of this initiative,” said Roxanne Caine, Vice President of the Detroit Lions Foundation and Community Relations.
She added, “We are so grateful for our partners, UDIM and Planet Fitness, for their continuous support of the Detroit Lions Foundation and the community, helping us maximize the positive impact we can make for student athletes statewide.”
Applications opened Tuesday, April 15, and will remain open through Thursday, May 29.
Since launching in 2019, Touchdown in Your Town has already invested more than $839,000 into Michigan schools—and it’s only growing stronger.
