Michigan in the Hunt for Four-Star RB Compared to Lions’ Jahmyr Gibbs
The Michigan Wolverines are making moves in the 2026 recruiting class, and one name to watch is four-star running back Deshonne Redeaux. The No. 105 overall prospect and No. 9 RB in the class just released his top-six schools, with Michigan making the cut—despite limited buzz around his recruitment in Ann Arbor.
Redeaux, a standout at Oaks Christian (CA), has drawn comparisons to Detroit Lions star Jahmyr Gibbs thanks to his elite speed and ability to make defenders miss. A two-sport athlete, he boasts 10.42 speed in the 100m and is a true home-run threat every time he touches the ball.
While Michigan hasn’t hosted Redeaux for a visit yet, the Wolverines’ strong track record with running backs and Tony Alford’s recruiting prowess could give them a real shot. With Michigan consistently competing for championships and sending backs to the NFL, Redeaux’s interest in development and winning aligns well with what the Wolverines offer.
Landing him won’t be easy, but if Michigan can get him on campus, they might just have a legitimate chance at securing another dynamic playmaker for the future.
